DEXA bone densitometry is a test used to precisely measure bone density and mass. The testing is fast, convenient, and painless. The most common examination sites are the hip, spine and wrist.
During the test, the patient lies comfortably on the dexa table while wearing their own clothing (metal free). A specially trained technologist performs the test which takes only 15-20 minutes. The evaluation also includes measurement of height, weight, medical history and risk assessment of diseases such as osteoporosis.
The data analysis is calculated and compared to bone mineral density values which assists your physician with a treatment plan if needed. Our radiologist prepares a detailed report of your bone density measurements and sends this information to your physician.
